Physical Assessment & Rehabilitation Center (P.A.R.C.) The P.A.R.C has been an integral part of the community of Poplar Bluff for over 13 years. Our licensed therapy staff have over 100 years of combined experience in the rehabilitation field. Our fitness staff consists of certified personal trainers, ATC’s, and certified group exercise instructors. Whether you come to us as a rehab patient, athlete, or fitness client, you can always expect a friendly, professional atmosphere at the P.A.R.C.
Physical
Therapy
Physical therapists work with patients of all
ages to promote a greater degree of health, wellness, and independence.
Individualized treatments may focus on reducing pain, healing injury,
regaining strength, increasing mobility, or improving coordination,
endurance or balance and assist patients in maximizing their overall
function at home an in the workplace. Our physical therapy services
cover: orthopedic, spine, hand, and neurological rehabilitation,
occupational medicine, wound care, aquatics, and lymphedema therapy.
Occupational
Therapy
After an injury or illness, occupational therapists
help patients regain independence in activities of daily living,
work or leisure functions and community re-entry. Occupational
therapists also
provide hand and upper extremity rehab after injury or surgery,
and can make customized splints to meet a variety of patient needs.
Our occupational therapy services cover: activity of daily living
training, home safety assessments, wheelchair assessment/training,
hand therapy, treatment for repetitive/neurological trauma to wrist
or hand, splinting/orthotics, arthritis, workplace assessment/testing
and work hardening.
Speech Language
Pathology
Speech/language pathologists work with patients
of all ages who need assistance in speech, language, cognition,
swallowing or voice function. Our speech/language therapy services
cover: stroke services, dysphagia/swallowing services, modified
barium swallow/videofluroscopy studies, speech or swallowing difficulties
(due to head and neck cancer), voice disorders and cognitive retraining.
Cardiac
Rehab & Pulmonary Rehab
A multidisciplinary exercise program that provides
you with education and information about your disease and its treatment,
the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Program will help increase your
strength and improve your breathing in a closely monitored situation.
Programs are generally three days per week, for 12 weeks. The following
conditions would qualify: coronary bypass surgery and/or stable
angina, heart attach, COPD (emphysema) or lung patients having
had (or preparing to have) a lung volume reduction/transplant.
Athletic Training
Our athletic trainers provide services
in the following areas: strength and conditioning,
injury assessment, referrals, triage assistance, courtesy assessments-post
injury, personalized coverage for a variety of athletic activities,
tournament event coverage, athletic injury prevention, athletic
rehabilitation, nutrition for sports performance.
Fitness Center
The Fitness Center has something for
all ages. It is open 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday,
7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Stop by for
